Back to Map Admissions Policy

The King's School, Grantham is a selective academy for boys whose admissions policy is determined by the school's governing body. The school selects 174 pupils for entry to Year 7 on the basis of qualification in the tests administered by the Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools. Catchment area is not used as a main selection criterion for entry to the school.

11+ testing of candidates in Year 6 takes place at the school on two successive Saturdays in September each year. Information about these tests is available on the school's website and practice papers can be made available to your son's primary school in the summer term of Year 5.

In addition to entry at Year 7, students may be considered for entry when places are available in other year groups. The school accepts up to 30 external students at the beginning of Year 12 to study for A Levels in the Sixth Form at King's.

The Admission Policy for King's may change, please ensure that you view the most current policy on the school's website.
