Back to Map Admissions Policy

Spalding High School is a 'community school' and our admissions policy is, therefore, determined by the Local Authority. In order to gain admission to Year 7, girls must attain the required standard in the 11+. If we are oversubscribed with girls reaching the required standard, preference will be given, first, to those with a sibling in the School, and then to those who live nearest to the School (measured by the driving distance between home and School). An independent appeals system operates for those parents who wish to appeal against a decision not to offer a place; details are available for the School. Girls wishing to join the School in subsequent years will go through a test procedure relevant to their age at the time of testing; again, details are available from the School.

In order to gain admission to the sixth form, girls and boys must attain the academic entry requirement. This includes gaining at least six C grades at GCSE, including English and mathematics, and at least B grades in the subjects to be studied in the sixth form.
