Bourne Grammar School is a co-educational selective Academy school which admits 240 students at Year 7 level who have qualified for admission through the 11+ testing procedure of the Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools. 11+ testing is conducted as follows:

- For children at Bourne Abbey Primary Academy: at the primary school over two successive Fridays in early September.
- For children at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy: at the primary school over two successive Fridays in early September.
- For all other children: at Bourne Grammar School over two successive Saturdays in early September.
